Dating to mid-1800s, this one started out as a fine old French cache pot, and has later had a hole drilled in the bottom so it can be used as a functioning planter pot. Perfect as a jardiniere, and just beautiful with its own hand painted bouquet of flowers against a rich black ground, it's in fine condition.
No chips or cracks. There is a smallish spot or two of paint rubs on the blue rim, but they are not chips. The ample size of this one makes it perfect for your trailing ivy and or whatever plants you choose to grace the pot, and it's just as pretty if used for other purposes, too. No signature or impressed marks. It's just in from France, and is a substantial, heavy piece.
