This is a pair of Napoleon III ebonized and stencil gilt domed shaped four legged stools. The body of the stools are dome shaped and surrounded by an elegant shaped molded wood frame. The frame is decorated with an elaborate gilt work of scrolls and foliage. Each is upholstered with a yellow silk brocade that has fine overlapping fish scale designs within. The upholstery is not original to the stools but approximately from the 1920s. The body rests on four turned wood short legs.
Each measures 13 1/4" long by 11" wide and 5 1/2" tall.
