![]() American Rose Applique Quilt, 1950s
item # 76157E
This is a kit quilt and has the same yellow and green fabric as the Tree of Life kit from the same era. This quilt measures a large 75" x 88" and has been hand quilted at 6-7 stitches per inch (one side counted).
The quilting patterns are beautifully placed using 1" grid in the center of the quilt, chain quilting, a star burst design, straight line and shell quilting along the scalloped borders. There are 6 red work roses, 2 on each side and 1 on each end. The quilting has all been done in a pink thread. The applique hand work has also been expertly done with nice, neat hemmed edges. There is a 1/4" green binder which is hemmed on the front and hand stitched to the back. The backing is a pink polished cotton and the batting is thin. This quilt is in excellent condition. There is no fading on the quilt, only onr very faint yellow spot on the front. There is also some hand embroidery on the quilt.
