The glass is a beautiful ice blue. The enamel on top is white and gold. There are white enamel dots around the bottom. The brass hardware is solid and the brass bands each have a tiny braided pattern on the edge - clasp is in good working order and hinge is firm. The brass work is indicative of manufacture around 1900.
The box is 2 3/8" across and it is 1 7/8" high. There are no cracks or chips - the only slight flaw would be two missing dots of enamel on the bottom. The shape of this box is quite unusual because the top is twice as high as the bottom.
