Lovely hand painted oval dresden bowl with reticulated pierced edges, applied flowers, handles and a hand painted interior. It is from the porcelain factory of Carl Thieme of Potschappel. Keeping with his style, this delicate piece has a Miesen similarity.
The bottom of the interior is signed by the artist.
The bowl is 10 1/2" long 7 1/2" wide and about 3" deep. It has wonderful handpainted detail both on the outside and inside of the dish. A cluster of applied large roses and other flowers , vines, leaves and smaller flowers are positioned on the sides and again on the ends underneath the handle.
There is no damage to the largest flowers, but minor petal loss on the smaller ones. Inside on the bottom is the largest handpainted and signed floral grouping with smaller one on the inside sides. Gold trim on the raised design of the leaves on the handles. A really pretty signed piece.
