![]() French Limoges Powder Box or Jar, Hand Painted Pink Roses, Circa 1892-1907
item # DARA28JW
The box is 4 ½” high to the top of the finial and 5 ½” wide.
The lid and bottom are hand painted, probably in the Woman’s Art Movement, and are unsigned by the artist. The roses are in shades of pink with white. The leaves and vines are in shades of green. The ground shades from blue to green to cream to yellow. The finial is round with some raised ridges on the outer edge. There is some gold rubbing wear to the gold trim. There is another band of gold trim around the rim of the lid. The insides of the bowl, under the lid, and the bottom of the bowl are glazed white. There are no chips, cracks or crazing. There is a little bit of yellow color in one tiny area on the inside of the box, and it is difficult to see. The green underglaze mark is on the underside and it is T&V inside a box followed by Limoges France.
