This is an exquisite silvered bronze French hand mirror. The handle has a fully sculptured Goddess standing on a ball holding the mirror above her head. Her hair is partially braided and in her headdress are fully sculptured birds walking on her arms.
This item has some markings on the back just above the handle.
The reverse displays a beautiful cherub walking with a burning torch carrying a flower. At the top there is a wreath that may be used to hang this mirror as a display item. This is an absolutely beautiful composition and has its old beveled mirror inset.
There is a tiny almost invisible chip on the outside border on the lower right of the mirror. This does not in any way detract from the unbeveled portion of the mirror which is perfect.
Length 11 1/2", handle from top of hand to bottom of handle is 4 1/2", width 5".
