 Limoges Still Life Bowl with Fruit

This colorful bowl is hand painted with ripe peaches, a pear, grapes, and a dark green jug on a background of soft green, yellow, apricot, and deep burgundy colors. The scalloped rim is trimmed with a thick band of gold gilding that is in perfect condition. The outside of the bowl is painted with a blending of pastel yellow, apricot and lavender colors. The bowl is signed on the front by the artist, J. Pegrot. It measures 10" in diameter and stands 2 ΒΌ" tall. It is marked with the P.M. Mavaleix underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1908-1914, and the George Borgfeldt (Coronet) overglaze decorating mark in green, circa 1906-1920. The bowl is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or restoration of any kind.
