![]() Limoges Powder Blue & Yellow Chocolate Pot
item # ROC59JW
Completely hand painted with roses. This lovely soft blue and yellow antique French chocolatier is delicately hand painted with pink, yellow & ruby roses.
Circa 1891-1910. The 19th or early 20th Century porcelain artist chose a sky blue and pale yellow Scandinavian palette for this treasure. These particular elegantly shaped molds are quite hard to come by, but we consider them to be one of the most beautiful chocolate pot molds ever made. Please notice the carefully applied raised gold pastework scrolls around the top of the pot, and the gold-dotted raised-relief beads which encircle the tight corset-shaped curvature of the pot's waist. Very large and tall at 11" in height and 7" in width. The condition is excellent. This vintage piece bears a William Guerin Limoges mark in Green with the country of origin: 'France' stamped underneath, which indicates it was imported into the United States after 1891. © 2007 Rosenquist Collection
