An heirloom antique hand painted Haviland Limoges, hand painted with clusters of Victorian Pink Roses against a mellow mint green and cream background wash of color. The 1-7/8" depth of this elegant wide-rimmed Haviland bowl, creates a lovely rose bowl effect for this darling roses china painting, which has more depth than if it had been hand painted upon a similarly sized Limoges plate. Antique hand painted bowls make especially beautiful display pieces for this very reason, and are often overlooked in the search for hand painted plates or chargers. Shallow wide rimmed bowls, like this one, can easily be displayed on the wall with ordinary plate hangers, or in angled or canted table top adjustable displays just as plates can be displayed. The extra curving 'bowl-depth' adds great interest to the china painting being displayed. The back side of this bowl has also been china painted in soft mint green, which is an added detail which improves on the look of the bowl from the side when it is displayed in a flat position.
