This is a gentleman and a lady: He, seated full face in blue coat with black collar, has a blue-embroidered black waistcoat and black cravat(not shown); and she, in green embroidered dress with lace collar and pink bow, is wearing flowers in her lace bonnet. The latter is signed on reverse 'Painted by Sir W.C. Ross R.A. a miniature Painter to H.M. The Queen 1854.'
Painting has a rectangular gilt wood frame oval, 4" (103mm) and 3 7/8" (98mm) high.
