Haviland Limoges 'Baltimore Rose' 8 1/2" plate; one of the most sought after Haviland patterns made, the Baltimore Rose pattern is a combination of large trailing pink roses and green vines. This pattern is also called Schleiger 1151A; blank 652A. The plate is edged in antique gold.
It is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks and little gold loss. There may be a factory glaze imperfections, but nothing that diminishes the aesthetic beauty.
The marks on the bottom say Haviland France in green (which dates these pieces between 1893-1930) and the over-glazed red decoraters mark says Haviland & Co for the company who imported it. The pieces were decorated by the Haviland Limoges factory specifically for that company. (Gimbel Bros, Milwaukee).
