French Limoges 12 ½” hard paste porcelain charger, or cabinet tray. The blank is produced by Coiffe, and the decoration is by Blakeman & Henderson.
The blank is fancy and elegant, with designs in raised relief around the irregular edge and covered in heavy gold. The center of the plate is glazed a pale green that shades to a lighter cream in the center. Around the rim are white glaze panels, with beautiful pink and white roses, touched with white enamel. The vines and leaves are green, with touches of pink. There are some light blue flowers and foliage also. The rose panels have gold detail work below each panel of roses and scrolls. Between the rose panels, the green color comes up from the center of the charger tray to meet the gold along the edge.
The tray has no chips, cracks or crazing. There are a few tiny spots of missing gold, some of which was from the creation of this dish, and a few tiny spots due to ordinary wear. The gold is more than 99% intact.
The green underglaze mark is Limoges inside the star with Limoges above and France below.
The green overglaze studio decorating mark is B&H Limoges France inside a circle.
