This piece is in the Hawthorne pattern, which was first made in 1885. This ladle is old, original production. The handle is ornately engraved with flower, leaf and scroll bright cut designs. The fluted bowl has beautiful flourishes along the edge and is also engraved with a bright cut flower decoration. The whole piece has a matte finish and is very fine quality.
The back is marked with the old Gorham hallmark and sterling.
This old piece is in superb condition, like the day it was made, and the designs are very crisp. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The ladle measures 12 1/8" long and weighs 118 grams or 4.1 ounces or 3.8 troy ounces.
