A tiny work of porcelain art, produced in the early half of the twentieth century, this meissen figure is well modeled and has all the care this factory is known for. This is a naturalistic depiction of a domestic hen, hand decorated in enamel on a fine quality white porcelain body.
Size: The hen stands 2 3/4" high.
Marks: Painted blue crossed swords mark, no cancellation marks so first quality, and no added blue cyphers to indicate a period 1934-45 for production. Incised mark H180X.
Condition: Very good, in all aspects what one has is an excellent grade fine quality meissen original but it has to be down graded as there is a tiny nick off the hens crown.
