Miniature Meissen porcelain cockerel, standing 3 1/2" high. This is a fine miniature bird figurine from the world famous factory of Meissen. The figure is well modelled and hand decorated / painted in realistic enamel colours. The Cock is in animated pose displaying what cockerels do best giving full voice, the modeler has captured the moment the bird has puffed up its breast, unfurled its wings and lifted its tail feathers.
Size: Height 3 1/2", width 2 1/4" wing tip to wing tip and roughly 3" beak to tail.
Marks: Blue crossed swords mark, no cancellation marks so first quality - no additional blue cypher marks suggesting a production date 1934-45. Impressed marks 149 plus cypher mark also 'x180'.
Condition: Very good, in all aspects what one has is an excellent grade fine quality meissen original, but it has to be down graded as there is a tiny nick off the end of one tail feather.
