Set of 12 heavily gilt luncheon plates by Black Knight in the extremely rare Eldorado pattern. These plates are made in the style of the distinguished English firm of Minton. Each plate is heavily encrusted with elaborate raised gilded fruit, urns overflowing with flowers, scrolling acanthus leaves and tiny berries on the vine. There are no firms today that make plates with a comparable amount of thick gilding and rich color with the possible exception of Faberge. These plates are of the highest quality similar to antique plates made by such renowned firms as French Sevres and Limoges.
Overall condition is excellent. Ten of the twelve plates are in great condition no chips, no scratches and 99% of gilding intact. One plate has two tiny flat surface chips on the underside the plate. One other plate has a tiny chip on its edge.
