Pencil and watercolor heightened with touches of white. 9½" x 13" (24.1 x 33cm) Sowerby lived in Gateshead, Colchester and Abingdon, and exhibited from 1876-1914 and at the Royal Academy from 1879. Depictions of cottage gardens were amongst his favorite subjects.
