 Haviland and Company Sauce Tureen with Sweetpeas Decoration

This vintage set is marked with the Haviland underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1888-1896. The sauce tureen and attached underplate measure almost 9" long and 6" wide. With lid in place, the set is 5" in height. It is decorated with pretty pink sweetpeas and greenery on a background of white and a soft taupe color. The finial and edges of the lid, sauce dish, and underplate are trimmed with lovely gold gilt that is in excellent condition. The set looks to be hand painted, but may possibly exhibit "mixtion" decoration, a combination of hand coloring added to a transfer outline. It is beautifully done and is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or restoration.
