It is signed by the artist; "Glenat". This beautiful old scenic mug is a masterful depiction of sparring roosters in a rural landscape in spring time. The talented artist created a drawn-curtain oval 'cameo' effect, by china painting the background a rich deep emerald green. One rarely discovers chickens hand painted on old Limoges mugs, which makes this a unique discovery. 103 years old, this charming mug stands 3 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide across the handle. It is in excellent condition. It bears a green underglaze backstamp which reads: 'T&V Limoges France'.
