![]() French Pink Threaded Glass with Enamel Night Light Candle Holder in Gilded Metal Stand, Circa 1930
item # DARA11JW
The night light is a machine threaded glass cylinder with a gilded ormolu top. The glass is primarily pink, but it does shade in color from a light blue-pink to a darker pink. The front of the glass has hand painted leaves and stems in raised enamel.
The base is a gilded metal, perhaps brass or bronze; however the flat part of the underside is another type of non-gilded metal. It rests on three feet. There is a handle and a thumb rest, so the holder can be carried from room to room. On the inside there is a holder for a candle. The base has a design of leaves and vines, and it comes up higher at one end. It is approximately 6 ¾” high and 5” wide including the handle. There is some light wear to the gilding. There is some green patina to the metal on the underside. The underside is marked with some symbols, numbers and initials. The numbers are 9 and 98. The intitials are M. Em.
