This platter has a shaped octagonal form; the center is molded with a well and further recesses. It is printed with a scene from 'Scott's Illustrations' series, depicting 'The Bride of Lammermoor', in which two female figures stand before a gentleman. Within the landscape is a chinioserie pavillion and castle in the background, and a broad border of scrolling shells and convolulous and other flowers.
