Beautiful 19th century French porcelain dresser box is hand painted by "Andre" and depicts three couples clad in the dress of the day,long dresses, waist coats and stockings, at a social event, talking and dancing.
Coloring is outstanding against the pale green porcelain background. Gilt ornate painting outlines the picture as well as all four sides of the box with floral and leaf design. Foliate brass work edges the lid with latch and the top and bottom edges of the box. Stands on ornate ormolu feet. Painted bouquet on the interior of lid and box with white background. Signed on the bottom with the manufacturers mark and symbol "FBS" with Madine France" below. In excellent condition. Measures 6.5L X 4.5W X 4.25.
